Learn the art of making pottery and creating decorative and functional vessels in our Ceramics Studio. This class is for the beginner and for those who have taken beginning pottery classes in the past. The course will cover basic and intermediate level workings in clay – mainly focused on wheel-thrown vessels (centering, pulling walls, shaping, and trimming). Topics on cups, mugs, bowls, plates, cylinders, and related shapes will be covered. Each student will create a series of vessels on the wheel. Glaze and firing techniques will also be covered.
Advanced students are welcome and individual instruction will be given on topics such as lids, two-part pots, slip decoration, large vessels, production techniques, and more.

Painting Partners
Every Wednesday 1-4pm

Painting Partners is an informal group that meets Wednesday afternoons in the resource room at Arts on Grand. The group is open to artists of all levels, from novices to professionals. Artists bring their own supplies and work in watercolors, acrylics, pastels, colored pencils or other media. During the sessions artists paint and visit, requesting advice or friendly critique. It's a great opportunity to practice your art and receive valuable feedback! Bring your brushes to paint and join this informal group!
