Eve Freeman

A couple winters ago, I decided to invest in some watercolor supplies, $20 worth to be exact. I attempted to teach myself to paint. I quickly fell in love with the medium of water and paint.

Throughout my life I have always looked at a moment in nature and thought “I could paint that.”

Recently I have picked up acrylic painting. I really enjoy using some watercolor techniques with the use of acrylic paints.

I guess I have always pursued creative outlets in my life. My husband Darin and I owned a restaurant in Spencer for several years, and I love cooking. I still do some catering on the side. I have used writing as an outlet since childhood. I published and illustrated The Thorn and the Pocket, a children’s book. I have been a member of the Clay County Garden Club for a very long time. Making flower arrangements for the floriculture competition at the Clay County Fair is so much fun.

I have lived in Spencer, Iowa, for over 25 years. I had no idea how many local artist live in and around Spencer. Being surrounded by so much talent is truly inspiring.

I would like to thank my friends and family for being so encouraging. It means the world to me. You all continue to make me a better artist and person.
