Formed in 1989, the Spencer Area Arts Council was created to encourage local artists, musicians and art lovers to showcase and present their work. In the early 2000’s the organization’s name was changed to Arts on Grand for their new location on Grand Ave. Arts on Grand is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
Today, Arts on Grand continues to promote and present local artists and musicians, with a mission of enriching the lives of N.W. Iowans through the arts. We offer a variety of classes throughout the year for both children and adults.
Our exhibit gallery hosts a variety of different artists and art, from color pencil to pastel artists. We also offer live music in our gallery from local musicians. A gift shop offers art, books and other items from local and Midwestern artists and authors.
Iris is about seeing our world and the people in it with fresh eyes. Things are rarely as they seem and God's goodness hides in the details.
Faith Tyrell is an artist and educator from Orange City whose greatist joy is sharing her art with others and inspiring them to create their own. She believes art is a form of worship and the detailed study of Creation gives the viewer a fuller picture of the character of the Creator. She hopes her art causes people to slow down an consider the small, incredible intricacies of our world.
Arts on Grand aims to create opportunities for the community to engage in the arts. Our facility is a beautiful and historic home to galleries, classes, musical performances, and more.
