Welcome to Arts On Grand

Formed in 1979, the Spencer Area Arts Council was created to encourage local artists, musicians and art lovers to showcase and present their work. In the early 2000’s the organization’s name was changed to Arts on Grand for their new location on Grand Ave. Arts on Grand is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Today, Arts on Grand continues to promote and present local artists and musicians, with a mission of enriching the lives of N.W. Iowans through the arts. We offer a variety of classes throughout the year for both children and adults.

Our exhibit gallery hosts a variety of different artists and art, from color pencil to pastel artists. We also offer live music in our gallery from local musicians. A gift shop offers art, books and other items from local and Midwestern artists and authors.

Fleeting Light
Chad Elliott
A message from Chad: "This body of work was created last year during the pandemic. I, like many others, found myself struggling to find hope at times. Pushing paint on the canvas served as a meditation for me. The images began to represent fleeting rays of hope in my little studio. Like light through a stained glass church window or the breaking of morning light, these images inspired me. I hope they inspire you as well."
